Nightingale Preston will be part of the broader Preston Crossing precinct. The area will deliver a new residential village to the north of Thornbury Station, part of the City of Darebin’s commitment to renewal and vibrant communities.

The building is designed in three parts to acknowledge three Preston histories. At ground floor, carbon-neutral brickwork is a nod to Preston’s residential past. The middle of the building featuring a precast fluted concrete facade and saw-tooth roofline references the remnants of Preston’s industrial past. The building is then split in two, creating a ‘green spine’ in the middle for vegetation to grow and to allow fresh air to circulate through the building — representing Preston’s drive for amenity in the way of parks and open spaces.

Nightingale Preston includes unique Teilhaus apartments with stooped entries, one and two bedroom apartments, as well as a commercial tenancy next to the ground floor pocket park. 100% fossil fuel free, Nightingale Preston will be carbon neutral in operation with sustainability initiatives woven through every part of the design.
