Slack San Francisco - 4th Street
The brief of this project was to convert a heritage building into an office for a young tech company. The flexible nature of the client’s work style called for spaces of different scales to accommodate activities ranging from meetings to recreation. Borrowing from the industrial character of the building, this office fitout is a manifestation of Breathe Architecture’s ideology of simplicity and functionality.

The design concept took cues from the surrounding environment. “The Fog” on level 15 is light and bright with white perforated steel screens and textured glass meeting rooms. This level houses workstations and addition meeting rooms. A central two storey stair void links the two levels, with tensioned ropes for climbing plants emphasising the height of the space and bringing in vegetation for their staff to enjoy.
